'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the nail-biting final moments of Swansea's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses amid the post-goal scrum.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative strike from distance, and the defender immediately hammered in the rebound before charging toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the team had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the second half. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator shouting out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win secured a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before switching to right defensive wing after Orient changed formation. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the City players who complimented the way Orient played positively.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the basics and simple things, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they understand how to control and slow down a game. You can feel you're all right and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and attention just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has quickly achieved similar status in his new home. At the London club he reunited with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a loan at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a bit naive going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that growth for his team and nation, shining for his national side, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including home and away games against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This marks quite the ride for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his dad, his father, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

Galbraith's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they competed on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a long trip and it was cold out there," he recalls, smiling. "The days leading up, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to travel with the first team and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "It was relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I realized I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it reached a stage where I thought I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to spend time with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with supporters on public transport after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
